Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 6 August 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Plixico (the "Platform"), operated directly by its founder, Shivacharan J (India), pending formal incorporation. By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Platform.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or make a booking on Plixico. Hostel owners and business listers must be able to enter into legally binding contracts under Indian law.

2. What Plixico is — and isn't

Plixico is a marketplace that connects students with hostel/PG owners, and students with each other for bed subletting and item rentals. We are not a party to the rental agreement between a student and a hostel owner, nor to any item-rental or service arrangement between students — we facilitate discovery, booking, and payment, and provide the buyer-protection escrow described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

3. Bookings and payments

  • Booking a bed requires a hostel visit confirmation (or waiver, where offered) followed by payment of the security deposit and first month's rent.
  • Payments are processed by Razorpay. By paying, you authorize Plixico to hold your deposit and first month's rent in escrow as described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
  • You're responsible for reviewing a hostel's rules, pricing, and policies (curfew, gender policy, etc.) before booking.
  • Rent for month two onward is a direct arrangement between you and the hostel owner — Plixico is not involved in that payment and takes no commission on it.

4. Cancellations, withdrawals, and refunds

Full details are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

5. Hostel owner responsibilities

  • Listings must be accurate — real photos, correct pricing, honest amenity and availability information.
  • Owners must honor confirmed bookings and the escrow/refund terms above.
  • Plixico may suspend or remove a listing found to be fraudulent, misleading, or in violation of these Terms, at our discretion, and may withhold payouts pending investigation of a credible dispute.

6. Bed subletting & item rentals

Students who have checked in to a booking may temporarily list their bed for others to rent while they're away, and any student may list personal items (electronics, furniture, vehicles, etc.) for other students to rent by the day. You're responsible for the accuracy of your listing and the condition of anything you rent out or return. Plixico takes a service fee on these transactions as disclosed at checkout.

7. Community guidelines & prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings or reviews.
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against another user.
  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose, or to list items/vehicles you don't have the right to rent out.
  • Attempt to bypass Plixico's payment/escrow system to avoid fees (e.g. arranging payment off-platform after being introduced through it).
  • Upload content that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights — see our Content & Copyright note in Section 9.

Violating these guidelines may result in content removal, listing suspension, or account termination.

8. Reviews and reports

Reviews must be from users with a real, completed booking. You can report a listing, review, or user you believe is fraudulent or abusive from the relevant page; our team reviews reports and may suspend the listing/account pending investigation.

9. Content & copyright

You retain ownership of photos and content you upload, but grant Plixico a license to display it on the Platform for its intended purpose. If you believe content on Plixico infringes your copyright, email legal@plixico.com with a description of the work, its location on the Platform, and your contact details, and we will investigate and remove infringing content where warranted.

10. Disputes between users

If a dispute arises between a student and a hostel owner (or between students) that isn't resolved by our escrow/refund mechanics, either party can raise it with Plixico support via support@plixico.com or the in-app report feature. We'll review booking records, payment history, and messages to help mediate, but Plixico is not a court or arbitrator and, for disputes we can't resolve, both parties retain their legal rights under Indian consumer protection law.

11. Limitation of liability

Plixico provides the Platform "as is." We work to verify hostel listings but cannot guarantee every detail of every listing is accurate at all times. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plixico's liability for any claim relating to a booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking.

12. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, subject to settling any outstanding bookings/payouts first.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute not resolved through the process in Section 10 is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Platform evolves. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
